We invite teachers, homeschoolers and group leaders to bring your children to the library.

Please call the location you would like to visit:

  • Main Library Children's Room - 617-376-2411
  • Adams Shore Branch - 617-376-1325
  • North Quincy Branch - 617-376-1320
  • Wollaston Branch - 617-376-1330

Drop in for a visit
We welcome school, camp and after school groups to visit the library and borrow materials. Because space is limited, especially at the branch libraries, we ask that drop-in groups limit each stay to one hour and follow these guidelines:

  • The branch libraries can accommodate drop-in groups of up to 10 children without advance notice.
  • The Main Library children’s room can accommodate drop-in groups of up to 20 children without advance notice.
  • Larger groups are asked to call ahead to arrange a time to visit.

Attend a scheduled library program
We offer a full schedule of events, including concerts, puppet shows, storytimes and crafts. Because space is limited at all locations, we ask that groups of any size wishing to attend an event please call us at least one day in advance. Groups that do not call ahead may be turned away if a program is at capacity.

Schedule a special tour or program for your group
We are happy to provide customized tours, special programs, and research tutorials for groups and classes from preschool through grade seven. Please provide two weeks’ notice to arrange a customized program.

Sign up for library cards
We can provide library cards for each child in your group on the day of your visit with three weeks’ notice. The additional time is needed for library card applications to go home with children for parent/guardian signatures, be returned to you, and then brought to the library for processing. We will create library accounts for each child so the cards are ready to use when you arrive.

Safety Guidelines for All Groups
Groups must abide by the library’s Safe Child and Appropriate Library Use policies. Children under the age of 10 must be supervised by a responsible adult or child aged 14 or older. Improperly supervised or disruptive groups may be asked to leave.

We look forward to hearing from you!
