First Saturdays - Music and Movement

Main Library Large Meeting Room
Sing and dance with Rubi Lichauco! Rubi brings her popular preschool program to Quincy, so put on your favorite dancing shoes and join us for this lively mix of music and movement for children. This program is sponsored by the Friends of the Thomas Crane Public Library. 
November: 11/4 at 10:00 and again at 10:30
No registration is required. When the 10:00 program is full we will close the doors. Please spend some time in the Children's Room while you wait for the 10:30 session.

Second Tuesdays - Middle School STEAM
2:00 p.m. Grades 5-8
Main Library Large Meeting Room
Students in grades 5-8 are invited to join us for our new monthly series of Middle School STEAM programs. Each month we'll be exploring a different STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) topic. We've got the first few planned, but we'd love to hear what you would like to do too!
November: 11/14
Topic: Engineering - Build a Rube Goldberg Device out of straws, pipe cleaners, dominoes and other simple materials that will ring a bell or drop a ball into a cup. Sounds easy? I wouldn't be so sure about that! Work on your own or with a group to test the most elaborate machine.
 
Second Thursdays - Preschool Discovery @Wollaston
10:00 - 11:00 a.m. for around ages 3-6
Wollaston Branch Library
Drop by the Wollaston Library with your preschooler any time between 10:00 and 11:00 to do some fun simple science together. Activities, experiments and instructions will be provided for science you can do with your child. No registration required. This program is sponsored by the Friends of the Thomas Crane Public Library. - This program will repeat at the North Quincy Branch Library on the Fourth Saturday of each month.

Second Saturdays - Full STEAM Ahead

Main Library Large Meeting Room
Children in elementary school are invited to join us for a different STEAM topic every second Saturday. We'll be exploring science in different ways every month!
November: 11/11 - Stop Motion Animation
Join us to learn how to make your own stop-motion movie! You will need to bring your own smartphone or tablet and we ask that you pre-load one of the many stop-motion apps available (such as Stop Motion Studio, iMotion, or PicPac) so you'll be ready to start as soon as you arrive.

Third Tuesdays - Dungeons & Dragons Encounters
7:00 p.m. for ages 10-15
Main Library Children's Room
New and experienced players ages 10-15 are invited to join us for this introduction to D&D 5th Edition game play. Take on the role of a fantasy hero in this monthly Dungeons & Dragons game. We will help you customize a character and play with the group on an adventure full of danger and monsters.
