SPECIAL EVENTS
2008-2009
The following special programs will be offered this year, funded in part by the Friends of the Thomas Crane Public Library. For schedule and program details, check the library's Calendar of Events (children's programs are listed in blue on the Calendar). All events will be held at the Main Library. Some programs require pre-registration.
Drop-in Storytime with Kelly
First and Third Saturdays at 10:00 a.m.
Join storyteller Kelly Santilli for stories, songs, rhymes and more for children aged 2-5 accompanied by an adult. The Third Saturday storytime is presented in English and interpreted in Mandarin and Cantonese. No registration required. Sponsored by the Friends of the Thomas Crane Public Library.
Saturday Fun For Little Ones
Second Saturdays (Time Varies)
Special programs for children aged four and younger, accompanied by an adult, beginning in September. Programs may include concerts, puppet shows and special topics such as sign language with young children. No registration required. Sponsored by the Friends of the Thomas Crane Public Library.
Mad Science Workshop
Fourth Saturdays, 10:00 a.m.
Mad Science of Boston returns on the fourth Saturday of each month from September to June, with workshops for children aged 4-8. Registration is required, beginning the first Monday of each month (the first Tuesday when Monday is a holiday). Stop by the Main Library Children's Room or call 617-376-2411 to register. The Night Owls 3 Book Club
Second Mondays, 7:00 p.m.

Second Tuesdays, 7:00 p.m.
A book discussion group for children in grades 5-8. Please register early so you will have plenty of time to read the book. Stop by the Main Library Children's Room or call 617-376-2411 to register.
Concerts at the Crane
Sundays at 3:00 p.m.
A special performance series for all ages featuring a variety of cultural traditions. Concerts will be held in January, February and March 2008. Check the Calendar of Events for details. Sponsored by the Friends of the Thomas Crane Public Library.
