Looking for more free ebooks to read right now?

  • Project Gutenberg
More than 38,000 books in a collection, which is adding an average of 50 new ebooks each week. With titles available as EPUB, MOBI, HTML, and basic text documents, Project Gutenberg remains the most comprehensive collection of free and legal books on the web.
  • Open Culture
Open Culture has a wealth of free resources, including ebooks, audiobooks and language courses.
  • ManyBooks.net
Browse through the most popular titles, recommendations, or recent reviews from site visitors. There are more than 29,000 ebooks available for Kindle, Nook, iPad and most other eReaders, and they’re all free!
  • DailyLit
DailyLit essentially serializes a novel in small daily segments, in exactly the same way magazines and newspapers of the past once did. It works because the author is paid a lump sum by DailyLit, who in turn send you a segment of a book via email or RSS on a daily basis with a small piece of advertising included.
  • Free-eBooks.net
Free-eBooks is extremely user friendly and very easy to navigate. Discover all-new, rising authors and enjoy a wealth of free ebooks. Independent writers offer both entertaining fiction/romance and non-fiction to help you find info on topics from self-help to business growth.
  • Scribd
Scribd is the YouTube for documents. Users upload text documents and share them with other users easily.
  • Open Library
More than 1,000,000 free ebook titles are available. Open Library account holders can borrow an ebook from the growing collection of mainly 20th century titles available now. Each title can be borrowed by one patron at once, and you can read it in a web browser or in Adobe Digital Editions as a PDF or EPUB.
  • Internet Archive
Download free books and texts. The Internet Archive Text Archive contains a wide range of fiction, popular books, children’s books, historical texts, and academic books.
  • Boston Public Library
Everyone who lives in Massachusetts can get a library card from BPL and start borrowing their ebooks immediately. Its primary collection is another partnership with Overdrive, so it will look familiar if you use our Overdrive collection, but you might find things there we don't have yet — it can't hurt to look, right?
