Patrons, community members, city officials, and volunteers tour the new Friends Bookstore location at its Grand Reopening on Tuesday, Sept. 5th.

The wait is over! We are thrilled to announce that, starting Wednesday, November 1st, the Friends of the Library Bookstore is expanding its business hours, thanks to the dedication of our long-time and new volunteers. The current limited hours of our bookstore, open for just two hours on Thursday evenings and six hours every Saturday, will now expand to a total of 31 hours a week, open 6 days a week!

New Business Hours:

The newly expanded hours are designed to better serve your reading needs, making our bookstore more accessible than ever before.

  • Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays: 12:30 PM – 3:30 PM
  • Tuesdays: 9:30 AM – 12:30 PM
  • Thursdays: 5 PM – 8 PM
  • Saturdays: 9:30 AM – 3:30 PM

This means that you can now visit our bookstore during your lunch break, after work, or on a leisurely Saturday, making it easier than ever to find that next great read for your own personal collection. All bookstore proceeds will be used to support library events and services for the greater Quincy community.

All proceeds from the Friends Bookstore goes directly towards funding Library programs and events for the public.

Mark your calendars for Wednesday, November 1st, and make the most of this fantastic opportunity to indulge in your love for books while supporting your local library. Our extended hours are a testament to our commitment to serving our community and making literature accessible to all. See you at the Bookstore!
