MINOT'S LEDGE LIGHT, BOSTON HARBOR
Built 1855-60 with stone furnished by the Granite Railway Company. Minot's Light is one of the world's famous lighthouses, and its erection was a most difficult engineering feat. It is on a ledge near the entrance to Boston Harbor at one of the most dangerous parts of the New England coast.
