Join us on Thursday mornings at 10 AM, starting April 4, for our outdoor English Talk Time event! English Talk Time is the library’s ESOL conversation-group program for adults. The Walk & Talk series allow for a nice walk around Quincy Center while practicing English communication skills and meeting new people! All are welcome!

Walk & Talk FAQ’s

Is Registration Required?

No. This is a drop-in program. Anyone is welcome to attend!

Where do the Walkers meet?

The group meets on the grass outside the Washington Street entrance at 10 AM. They usually have a little conversation outside and embark for the walk around 10:15 AM.

How do I know if the walk is cancelled?

If it is raining or unusually cold, the walk will be cancelled. We will mark the event as cancelled by the Wednesday evening prior to the walk. As ‘regulars’ start to attend the walks, we will remind them to check the calendar if the weather looks iffy!

Is this program only for adult language learners?

No, the program is open to all community members. As we say in the event description, the intended audience includes:

  • Adults interested in practicing their English conversation skills.
  • Longtime residents interested in meeting and chatting with our international community members.

Can people bring children on the walks?

Yes, we often have a few young children on the walks. One of our volunteers who leads the walks brings her granddaughter in a stroller. As mentioned in the event listing:

  • Children are welcome but must be supervised by a parent or caretaker.
