The Social Web is similar to the World Wide Web, except instead of linking documents and information, it links people and organizations.

So what does that mean for kids?
It means the Internet is a TOTAL BLAST.
- Chat with friends (and strangers) in real time, in virtual chat rooms, and on message boards.
- Create a personal web page.
- Publish an online journal that everyone—or just selected firends—can read.
- Download free music, movies, and television shows.
- Find answers to questions about everything from sex to Shakespeare.
- Get discovered by an adoring public by putting your photographs up on Flickr.
- Organize every book you own—online!—by author, subject, title, or jacket color.
- Videotape your friends rioting!
- Join Groups—everything from Goth to the KKK.
- Collaborate on a homework project—without ever having to meet face to face.
- Change your browser so so the buttons all look like they are wearing thongs.
- Watch a lot of pornography
- Create your own pornogrpahy
- Be a cyber-bully
- Be the victim of a cyber-bully
- Do really bad stuff.
- Do really wonderful stuff.
