Volunteer
Orientation is a mandatory first step in the process. Training takes place over six lessons. Workshops are offered twice a year, spring and fall. You are expected to attend every session and participate actively in the sessions. You will learn about teaching techniques, materials, and lesson planning. Reading and homework are assigned.
Upon successful completion of the workshop, volunteers are matched with students. We ask that you make a one-year commitment to the program, giving two hours of tutoring and an hour of preparation time a week. Tutors and students meet once a week at a time and place convenient for both.
