Message from the IRS:
The production of some 2012 major tax products, including the Form 1040 and the Instructions for Form 1040, is impacted by the recent passage of the American Taxpayer Relief Act of 2012.  At this time, we do not have an estimate as to when products will become available on IRS.gov or in print. 

In-Library Resources
During tax season, the library has the following federal and state tax publications:

• 1040, 1040A and 1040EZ forms & instructions
• Schedules A, B, C, D, E, EIC, SE, ES
• Forms 1040-V (Payment Voucher), 2441, and 4868
• Massachusetts Form 1 (Resident Income Tax Return)
• Massachusetts Form 1-NR (Nonresident or Part-Year Resident Income Tax Return)

If you need additional tax forms, please visit the IRS website or an area IRS office.  The closest IRS offices are in Boston or Brockton.

Reproducible forms from the past ten years are located in the Main Library’s Business & Career section, located on the top floor.

Free Tax Help
QCAP: Quincy Community Action Programs
To qualify for free tax assistance, you must live in Massachusetts and your 2012 income must be less than $51,000, or you qualified for QCAP fuel assistance this season.

Quincy Council on Aging
The Quincy Council on Aging is now taking appointments for FREE tax assistance for seniors in need.  All tax assistants are trained volunteers.  Only uncomplicated returns will be considered.

You will need to bring the following:

• W-2s and 1099s
• Statements of other incomes
• Information for all deductions or credits
• A copy of last years tax return
• 2012 real estate and water and tax bill
