Summer reading, storytimes and nursery rhymes - These programs are for ages 4 and under.

Mail Library Meeting Room
Every Wednesday evening will be filled with activities for children and adults to do together. Join us for an hour of interactive stories, partner dances, playing and and singing together. This three week program is designed for adults and children to enjoy stories and songs as a family. This is a great time for you and your children to sing, dance, listen and talk with each other. This program is cosponsored by the Quincy Arts council and the Friends of the Thomas Crane Public Library.

Bring your preschooler in to do some sports science! We'll be testing different shoes for grip, matching sports equipment, finding out about gravity, and more! Come in and try out these activities any time during this hour of science fun.

Join us to meet some animals! An Adventure Guide from Animal Adventures will present eight to ten animals at this program. Meet the animals, hear interesting stories and information about them and get close. We don't know what animals will be coming to visit, but they could be something as familiar as a rabbit or as unusual as a degu! 

Teddy Bear Storytime
Tuesday, July 26th at 7:00 p.m.
Ages 2-5 with an adult
North Quincy Branch Library
Join Children's librarian Cathy deVeer and Quinn Z. Bear for stories and songs for preschoolers. Feel free to wear your comfy jammies and bring along your favorite stuffed friend as we get ready to cheer on our teams with Olympic stories!

Sparky's Puppets presents "On Your Mark, Get Set, Read!" a special puppet show for children. Cheer the race between the tortoise and the hare. Watch Jack's speedy escape from the giant, and see more fast-paced adventures!

Main Library Front Lawn Farmer's Market at Pagent Field (weather permitting - see below)
Join children's librarians Jane Miller and Gail Columbare at the new Adams Green as they present Mother Goose and Little Bo-Peep: a Nursery Rhyme and Song Extravaganza. This is a fun-filled program of stories and songs for children ages 4 months to 4 years old accompanied by an adult. This program is especially geared toward very young children. This show will go on, rain or shine; in case of inclement weather we will move into the large meeting room at the Main Library. Meeting room space is limited to the first 125 people; when we reach capacity we will close the doors.

Join storyteller Denise Shaver for a special storytime full of songs, stories and rhymes just right for our youngest listeners.

Bring your preschooler in to do some of our favorite science activities from the past year of Preschool Discovery. Did you have fun mixing colorful baking soda and vinegar? Did you miss out on making light-up constellations? Come in and try out those activities and more! Drop in any time during this hour of science.

This awesome balloon magic show contains Jim's signature brand of balloon artistry, magic, comedy, storytelling, improvisation, and loads of audience participation. Archery, basketball, fencing, and even Scottish caber tossing are just some of the events that our "athletes" will compete in. Most importantly, Jim will incorporate just how reading and staying active work together.
