Summer is a great time to read together as a family. No matter your age we have a summer reading program that is just right for you. Take a look here for more details and remember, this program is for the whole family. Board books and stories read to children count!

Bilingual Storytime with Cheryl
Saturday, June 28th at 10:00 a.m.
Ages 2-5
Join storyteller Cheryl Dunford for a family storytime full of stories, songs, and rhymes in English and Chinese for children ages 2-5 accompanied by an adult.

Fizzy Fireworks Craft
Thursday, July 10th at 2:00 p.m.
Ages 3-6

Adams Shore Branch Library
Can science create art? You bet it can! Create a colorful, fizzy, foaming fireworks picture using the scientific reaction between baking soda and vinegar.

Storyteller Diana Kane presents "Let's Play Together," a pajama storytime designed especially for children ages 2-5 and their parents. Every Wednesday evening will be filled with activities for children and adults to do together. Come see Ms. Diana for an hour of interactive stories, partner dances, playing in ab and and singing together. This six week program is designed for adults and children to enjoy stories and songs as a family. This is a great time for you and your children to sing, dance, listen and talk with each other. This program is cosponsored by the Quincy Arts council and the Friends of the Thomas Crane Public Library.

Vermont PuppeTree presents Swimmy
Tuesday. July 22nd at 3:00 p.m.
Ages 2 and up accompanied by an adult

Adams Shore Branch Library
Vermont PuppeTree presents a beautiful shadow puppet show version of the beloved classic tale by Leo Lionni. "A little fish, the sole survivor of a school of fish swallowed by a tuna, devises a plan to camouflage himself and his new companions." This exquisite picture book has been turned into an animated multi-media shadow puppet performance by the PuppeTree. Followed by an original shadow puppet and animation piece that answers the question "What can one little girl do to clean up her river?" Parents of very young children please be aware that the performance area will be darkened to show off the shadow puppets. This program is sponsored by the Friends of the Thomas Crane Public Library.

Have you ever met a kookaburra? Or a toucan? Or possibly a macaw? If not and you would like to, join Naturalist Rick Roth of Creature Teachers. Rick will fascinate us all with the wonders and diversity of the animals that share our planet. This show will focus on birds. Mother Goose and Little Bo Peep
Thursday, August 14th at 10:00 a.m.Two librarians, one dressed as Mother Goose and one dressed as Little Bo Peep
Ages 0-4 with an adult
Main Library Front Lawn (Main Library Large Meeting room in case of rain)
Join children's librarians Jane Miller and Gail Columbare on the library lawn as they present Mother Goose and Little Bo-Peep: a Nursery Rhyme and Song Extravaganza. This is a fun-filled program of stories and songs for children ages 4 months to 4 years old accompanied by an adult. This program is especially geared toward very young children. The show will go on come rain or shine; in case of rain we will move into the large meeting room. Meeting room space is limited to the first 125 people; when we reach capacity we will close the doors. Sponsored by the Friends of the Thomas Crane Public Library.
