Bringing a Group to the Library
We love to see summer school, camp and preschool groups using the library. We recommend that you visit in the early morning when there are no programs scheduled so the room is less crowded.
Please remind children that they must have their library card with them to check out materials. We are unable to issue library cards or computer access codes during group visits. Please contact us at 617-376-2411 for a letter to send home to parents explaining how they can get library cards for their family.
If your group is large (10 or more children), please call us at 617-376-2411 before you come so we can let you know if anything unusual is happening. This also alerts us if more than one group will be visiting at the same time. Small groups of 10 or fewer can be accommodated at some programs, whereas other programs have a limited number of spaces available.
Teachers and counselors are responsible for the actions of their groups. We suggest that the whole group come to the desk to check out materials just before leaving so that items do not get put down and misplaced.
