Join us beginning July 5th for the library's Summer Reading Program. Participate in our book bingo reading game to earn tickets for one of our four summer reading raffle baskets. This summer we will be raffling off a school supplies basket, a book lovers basket, coffee/tea basket, art supplies basket, outdoor adventures basket and a gamers basket. You can pick up your bingo card at the Reference desk on the 2nd floor or at any of the branches now. For each bingo square completed participants will receive one raffle ticket. A short review for each book must be completed to earn a ticket. 

Reading isn't the only way to earn raffle tickets this summer. Come to any of our teen programs listed below and earn additional tickets. Click on the image below beginning on July 3rd to get started on your book reviews.

July Programs

  • July 5th at 3 pm Kickoff Party: Iron Chef - Test your cooking skills in this rapid fire competition. Based off the r.v. show you will make 2 dishes with only a few ingredients.
  • July 6th at 2 pm CD Scratch Art - Are you looking for a ay to re-purpose old CD's? This simple craft will bring new light to this old technology.
  • July 11th at 6 pm Tie-Dye T-shirts - Come and get creative in this fun outdoor activity. T-shires can be provided but you are encouraged to bring your own.
  • July 12th at 2 pm Confection Confessions - These fun and tasty icebreakers will bring you out of your comfort zone and feed your appetite at the same time.
  • July 18th at 2 pm Library Video Challenge - Are you interested in making and editing videos? If so, take advantage of the library's equipment and create your own short video.
  • July 21st at 2 pm Quincy Center Scavenger Hunt - This quest will take you around Quincy Center showing you the city's history while mixing in some of our new additions.
  • July 24th at 5 pm Artist Corner: Canvas Art - Using tape, acrylic paint and canvas this easy craft creates geometric shapes is designed to bring out the artist in you.
  • July 26th at 2 pm Crane Codes - Learn how to do basic coding using the Scratch and Code programs.

August Programs

  • August 1st at 2 pm Movie: Goonies - This interactive classic adventure film will have you jumping out of your chair, yelling at the screen and running in fear.
  • August 3rd at 4 pm Esther Earl Day Celebration - Esther Earl, a local Quincy resident, passed away from cancer in 2010. Her moving story This Star Won't Go Out inspired millions of readers. We will be celebrating her birthday with fun outdoor activities: races, capture the flag, and more!
  • August 8th at 6 pm Dominoes Competition - Work together to build a domino maze and the team that is the most successful will earn an extra raffle ticket towards the summer reading raffle prizes.
  • August 10th at 4 pm PowerPoint Unscripted - Dust off your public speaking skills in this improv activity by making up a speech for a random PowerPoint slideshow.
  • August 14th at 6 pm Crane Trivia Night - How well do you know your pop culture, history, sports, or literary history? Join us for our library trivia night where the winning team will earn raffle tickets for our Summer Reading prizes.
  • August 15th at 2 pm Summer Reading Final Party - Celebrate the end of our Summer Reading Program with food, games and prizes. Turn in the last of your tickets to be eligible for any of our raffle prizes that will be given away at the end of the party. One one raffle prize per person.
