The Library offers several meaningful volunteer opportunities for adults interested in making a difference in their community. Find out how you can teach an adult to read or facilitate an English Conversation group for ESOL adults. We provide training and support for these volunteer positions and ask for a one-year commitment from volunteers.

We also employ adult and teen (aged 14 and up) volunteers to reshelve library materials and help with other basic collection maintenance activities. These routine and recurring tasks require accuracy, an aptitude for detail work, and the ability to lift books and other materials, bend, stoop, and stand for extended period of time.  Training is provided and we ask for a minimum commitment of two hours per week for at least six months.

For more information about volunteering at the Library, please see our Volunteer Policy and Prospective Volunteer Information sheet. If you are interested in volunteering, please fill out an Adult Volunteer Application or a Teen Volunteer Application and bring it to the library or email it to quvolunteer@ocln.org.
