This book club for children in grades 1 and 2 works a little differently than our other book groups - It's a bit of a cross between a book group and a storytime. Where our book clubs for older readers meet once per month, the Chickadees meet weekly on the same schedule as our weekly storytimes. The group reads a book together, working through the book a bit each week and discussing what they have read.

The Night Owls Book Club for children in grades 3 and 4 meets monthly. Children attending this book club are encouraged to participate in an open discussion of a different book each month, sharing their opinions and questions with the group. At the end of each session, the group helps to select the next book to be read from options presented by a children's librarian.

Second Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m.
This book club for children in grades 5 through 8 meets monthly. Instead of all reading a single title, children attending this book club can pick different titles from a different theme or genre each month. Themes and genres vary from month to month and a list of selections is provided to choose from, or children can propose a title that fits the theme. Discussions focus both on the individual titles read by each child, and on the overarching topic.
