Crimes of Passion: A Valentine’s Day Concert
Saturday, February 8 from 2 – 4 PM
Richardson Building, Main Library, 40 Washington St. Quincy, MA

Join us in the Richardson Building as The Maenad Theatre Troupe presents their first project, “Crimes of Passion: A Valentine’s Day Concert Featuring An Abridged Staging of Gilbert & Sullivan’s Ruddigore.” The Maenad Theatre Troupe is an artistic project bringing classical music and theatre to the South Shore. Their foundational principles are anti-elitism, collaboration, and a healthy amount of tomfoolery. Join us for theirr inaugural performance this February 8th!

The first act is a pastiche of classic opera scenes including selections from Carmen, The Barber of Seville, Cosi fan tutte, The Magic Flute, and more. The second half will be an abridged staging of Gilbert and Sullivan’s satirical melodrama “Ruddigore.”

The concert features soloists Angela Maloney (soprano), Lee Ellis (mezzo-soprano), Bryan Sabbag (tenor), Sean Connaughton (baritone), and Rob Gullicksen (baritone). Come out for an afternoon full of mayhem, misfits, and madness performed by a wonderful cast!

This program is made possible by the generous sponsorship of the Friends of the Thomas Crane Public Library.
