For Kids

January 2 – February 29, 2024

Join us for our Kids’ Winter Reading Challenge in January and February!

Participants aged 0 – 5 will earn special winter-themed stickers for every 15 minutes of reading. These can be added to their very own set of mitten reading challenge cards!

Participants aged 5 – 13 are invited to join our read-and-bead program, tracking every 15 minutes of reading with a bead of their choice, to create a brag tag full to celebrate their winter of reading. The more you read, the fancier beads you can earn and trade up to, building up to the coveted 24-hour winter charm!

Everyone will receive a special reading chart of winter characters to track their reading. Whether you’re doing the reading or being read to, all reading counts! Come into any of the Quincy library locations to sign up and come back to get your reading signed off and collect beads or stickers! How many can you collect by February 29?

This program is for children from birth to age 13 and their families.

Visit the Children’s 2024 Winter Reading page for more info on the 2024 children’s winter reading program.
