Trees and Tiny Forests in Quincy

Welcome back the Quincy Tree Alliance, a local volunteer group aimed at protecting and expanding the city’s tree canopy. We are thrilled to welcome 2 expert panelists, who will be discussing the tiny forests of Quincy.
- The City’s tree warden, Dan Cathcart, will discuss plans to plant a tiny “Miyawaki” forests in the city using federal grant money. (Cambridge’s Danehy Park had the first one in the area, according to a story last year in The New York Times.
- Maria Andrews, a Quincy resident who researched and planted a Miyawaki forest in her backyard
