QUINCY — Director Sara Slymon is pleased to share that the Thomas Crane Public Library will be unveiling a newly reimagined teen space at the Main Library next month.

On Thursday, Sept. 7, from 3-5 p.m., Quincy teens are invited to take part in a ribbon cutting and grand opening to celebrate the new space, which will feature new study areas, comfortable seating, computer stations and engaging lighting.

Light refreshments will be available, as will a variety of activities for teens. Activities will include a raffle for those in grades 8-12 and a DIY keychain making station.

The teen space is located in the Coletti Building at the Main Library, 40 Washington St., Quincy.

“The Library is thrilled to be offering it’s first ever full service teen space at the Main Library.  We are right next to a huge high school, and want Quincy teens to know they are welcome here and will have a place that is all their own.  The Teen Advisory Board has been instrumental in the development of the space, and we look forward to feedback from the larger teen community moving forward. Teen patrons are at a unique inflection point in their lives, making important decisions about their future, and growing through many changes and challenges.  They deserve a safe, welcoming space to contemplate their day to day lives and futures”,” Slymon said.
