WHERE:

Thomas Crane Public Library, Community Meeting Room, 40 Washington St.

Community members are invited to join an enlightening evening with acclaimed author and history teacher Denman, as he delves into the captivating world of John Quincy Adams and his complex relationship with abolition in his latest book, “John Quincy Adams, Reluctant Abolitionist.”

This event is free to attend. No registration is required.

During the event, Denman will take attendees on a journey through the life and times of John Quincy Adams, a Harvard alumnus, diplomat, U.S. President, and influential member of Congress. While Adams never fully embraced the abolitionist cause, his passionate disdain for the arguments of Southern slaveholders propelled him into a central role in one of America’s most defining struggles.
